Pezula Country Estate

Pezula Country Estate Golf Course

Some say this course is the most picturesque in Africa. This Ronald Fream designed 18 hole golf course is located on the top of Knysna Heads has some of the most dramatic views in world golf. Situated on the East Head at Knysna, the 360 degree views take in the dramatic Indian Ocean, the delicate Knysna Lagoon and Knysna estury and the distant Outeniqua Mountains. The course plays well and is challenging for the experience and a good afternoon out for the beginner. Pezula possesses one of the great golfing locations on the African continent. The course is laid out on undulating property overlooking the Indian Ocean. Rolling fairways and 'eyebrow' bunkers ala Gleneagles give the course a Scottish highlands feel. The terrain makes it very difficult to walk this course. Although the shortest par-four, the 289-metre 14th has a spectacular location. A strategic golf hole, where a percentage approach off the tee and into the green is more likely to reap dividends than a big hit with a driver.

George Golf Club

George Golf Club

The setting is the exquisite Garden Route, with the Outeniqua Mountains as a backdrop. With 18 championship holes on a top quality course, it is not surprising that so many good things have been said about this club. The region enjoys abundant rain, good soils and many beautiful trees and shrubs have been planted and are flourishing on the course. Today the area off the fairways is heavily wooded and the 6105-metre layout remains lush and green throughout the year. The 183-metre 17th is one of George's best holes and it requires a long iron into an exaggerated oval shaped green that is quite shallow from front to back. The 18th is one of the region's best-known fishing holes.
