the slopes of the Klein River Mountains you will find Blue Gum Country
Estate, a 5 star lodge, offering an exciting alternative to guests
wishing to explore the Overberg area.
Located outside of Stanford, 20kms beyond Hermanus, Blue gum offers an
alternative route, and destination, for those travelling to the garden
route, or for those escaping the city for a weekend. Travelling time
from Cape Town is just under 2 hours.
Accommodation:
The Manor House has its own lounge, library and verandah. The
rooms are decorated in rich earthy colours with African furnishing.
Luxury Rooms - Decorated in a Colonial African style. Each room has its
own private verandah with commanding views of the valley.
The Elephant Suite - has its own lounge area, large private deck from
which to enjoy the impressive view
The Honeymoon suite - has its own lounge area, its own private garden
and fireplace.
All rooms have a mini bar, Satellite television, bath and shower
facilities, beautiful views and access to the gardens.

There is a swimming pool in the garden for your enjoyment,
carefully placed pool loungers ensure you get the best views and a great
tan.
Unwind with a game of tennis.
Horse riding: On the beach or in the
mountains, we have exclusive access to a stable.
 Mountain
Bikes are always available, cycle the tracks at the base of the mountain
or along the gentle farm roads.
Blue Gum Country Estate extends up the Klein Rivier Mountain. We hope
that you will walk in the mountains and enjoy the diversity of flora.
Bird Watching - Blue Gum boasts a bird population of 110 recorded
species. Riverine thickets, pastures and mountain
Fynbos affords the estate this diversity. Regular sightings range from
fish eagles to elegant blue cranes.
Blue Gum has exclusive access to a boat on the Stanford River. We offer
morning and evening cruises.
We have a modest library in the lounge. There are also various games,
including chess, playing cards, backgammon, scrabble and a bridge table.
